GATEWAY TO UNIVERSITY HONORS
The Gateway to University Honors course focuses on maximizing your success in college and beyond. Its concentrates on personal development and the pathways to success in University Honors, by focusing on the process of reflection and experiential learning. Students learn about opportunities to become engaged in leadership, community service, research and creative arts, and global studies activities on campus and in the community. Additionally, student build a community of University Honors peers to help them during their time at UC. Through honors, students:

- Understand and engage in the reflection process
- Identify the potential uses of e-portfolios and create one for displaying college experiences
- Apply the concepts of experiential learning to individual learning and interests
- Create and evaluate a successful experiential learning proposal based on interests as they align with the University Honors Program

I have been involved in music my whole life, from the time when my family had "friday music nights" to now, with my participation in various marching, and concert bands after playing clarinet for 10 years. With all my experiences in music, I have a deep seeded belief in music's power to unify individuals.

This Honors Self-Designed Experience was completed for the Honors 1010 class. It describes my proposition to get honors credit for being a Peer Tutor as an employee at the University of Cincinnati in the Learning Assistance Center.

The final project of Honors 1010 was to examine our first semester at UC and look at some significant relationships and how those influenced us. I wrote about all my friends gained through being a member in the UC Bearcat Marching Band.
